Bartender's Choice app good for
Great app. I use it all the time. My only complaint, and the reason why I bump it down to 4 stars, is that the "Details" section, where it provides extra information (e.g. Forward, Glossary, Glassware and Equipment, Ice, How to Jigger, etc.) malfunctions: it can be read, but it only fills half the screen. The print is tiny and you cannot zoom in. It would be perfect if the creators would fix this problem! Otherwise, I still recommend this app for the novice and the seasoned.
This is possibly the best and only cocktail app youll need. If you want to learn to make Milk & Honey style drinks as well as classics this app is for you. However, it is in desperate need of updating. It still isnt optimized for iPhone 5 or 6 so it has black bars on newer phones. The glossary section has major formatting issues and some drinks are missing photos or reuse them. The recipes are great (some new ones would be amazing too) but it looks like the developers have sadly abandoned this app.
Excellent collection of carefully curated cocktail recipes. No pre-flavored vodkas or other junk ingredients. No 8 different versions of the martini or margarita. Smidgeon of historical info on each recipe. Good (but not great) interface. High quality advice on extras like shaping ice, muddling, etc. Inexplicably missing some standards, like the Bloody Mary, for which it loses one star.
Some bad moments
Not very good, missing a few staples like a Ceaser aka bloody Mary, not shots at all....
It seems ok but, it has some short comings. You cant (as of first release) put it for metric system, sadly, there is no discription of the various syrups how theyre made etc. Like the Tiki+ app you can tap anything and you get a discription. And then there is the usual: does he really make that cocktail with those specs? aperol sour? Its an extensive list, but misses many classics and then has alot of their own cocktails put in, is it a good balance - I dont know, for $3 its fine but I probably wont use it, unless fixed up... Could go for more stars if issues where fixed. But 1-2 stars is what I give it.
This very clean, easy to use app is the gates to the milk and honey drinking experience - all recipes explained with accuracy and clarity. Its an outstanding drink list, including various rarely used sources. In many ways the superior, updated version of other similar apps. It even includes a how-to category for young bartenders at home, or professional.
This is THE Milk & Honey guide to making the finest alcoholic beverages... Could you ask for a more prestigious bar/bartenders to open their manual and explain their inner workings? Not likely. Its the quintessential classic cocktail manual.
DO IT
I Love this app....great Job!!! The best Mixology app ever!!! Cheers
Suggestions, alphabetical recipes, search by ingredient, and tips on technique. I dont agree with some of the recipe suggestions, but one can add notes as needed, and thats half the fun of mixing your own drinks.
Highly recommend.
Great overall for the first go. Could use some minor tweaks. Found it odd the Golden Cadillac called for 4 oz of OJ. Love it. Definitely worth 3 bucks and the chance to "replicate" the Milk&Honey experience at home, minus the accent.
